The following organizations are eligible to apply to become members of the CISC:
Steel Fabricator
A firm or corporation which is recognized as a structural steel, steel plate and/or steel joist fabricator with a plant located and operating within Canada.

A firm or corporation who carries on in Canada the stocking, and/or cutting and/or distribution of steel used in the fabrication and erection of steel structures.

Steel Mill Producer
A firm or corporation which carries on in Canada the manufacture and distribution of steel used in the fabrication of steel structures.

Steel Detailer
A firm or corporation that provides, in Canada, detailing services for the fabrication and erection of steel structures.
*Fee: $500.00 for one detailer and $78.50 for each additional detailer.

ASSOCIATES
The following organizations are eligible to apply to become associates of the CISC:
Steel Fabricator
A firm or corporation which is recognized as a structural steel, miscellaneous, steel plate fabricator with a plant/office located and working within Canada.

A corporation that erects structural steel, miscellaneous, steel tank or steel plate with a plant/office located and working in Canada is eligible to apply.

Supplier
A Canadian or International firm or corporation that provides products or services used in fabrication or erection of steel for the Canadian steel construction industry.
*Each associate supplier application is for one location. This location can be listed in one region, $1,046.00; two regions $1,568.00; Eastern or Western Canada, $3,137.00 or national, $5,230.00

Consultant Company
A Canadian or International firm or corporation that provides engineering or architectural consulting services for the Canadian steel industry.
Fee: $500.00

A Canadian or International multi-office firm or corporation that provides engineering or architectural consulting services for the Canadian steel industry.
*Fee: $5,000.00

Builder or Stakeholder
A Canadian firm, corporation, organization, or agency that is involved in the funding, building, developing, specifying and education for the steel construction industry.
*Fee: $1,046.00

Professional Individual or Technical Individual
A Canadian or International individual who participates in the activities of the steel construction industry in Canada. This individual cannot be employed by, or agents for, steel fabricators, mills, detailers, erectors or companies supplying products or services in the Canadian steel industry. Professional Engineers and Architects must be university graduates to be eligible to apply. Membership of a local professional organization is not required.

*Initial dues are paid to cover the cost of joining the CISC and based on CISC fiscal year which runs from May – April. Renewal fee will be invoiced in May of each year. Fees of $1,000.00 and over are prorated. All fees are subject to applicable taxes.
Membership in the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) shall be available only to any business that meets the qualification requirements as defined in the CISC By-Laws and Policies, determined in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Board, which is not subject to review or appeal. All decisions by the Board shall be final and binding without the need to give any reasons for the acceptance or rejection of any application.
